Habit Stack Support

日本語はこちら

Thank you for using Habit Stack. Instead of asking "What time will you do it?", Habit Stack asks "What will you do it after?" Attach a new habit to something you already do, like squats after brushing your teeth or a glass of water after waking up, and it becomes much easier to keep going.

How to use

1. The first time you open the app, tap "Start with a typical day" to lay out common routines (waking up, breakfast, a shower and so on). You can also add your own in Settings.
2. Tap + at the bottom right of the Today screen to add a new habit (a stack). Choose which routine it goes before or after, and it appears in that spot on your morning, midday or evening timeline.
3. Each day, tap the check box on the right of a stack when you've done it. Routines have no check box, because they're already habits.
4. On the History tab, you'll see a monthly calendar plus a rate and streak for each stack.

When it becomes a habit

Open a stack and tap "It's a habit". The stack becomes a routine: it no longer needs checking off and no longer counts toward your number of stacks.

Reordering

Press and hold the ≡ on the left of a stack to move it.

About Habit Stack Pro

Habit Stack is free and has no ads. The free version lets you add up to 3 stacks and see your monthly records.

Habit Stack Pro is a one-time purchase (not a subscription) and adds:

Unlimited stacks
Separate weekday and weekend timelines (for example, stacks only for days off)
A yearly view of your whole year

If you bought Pro before (after changing phones or reinstalling, for example), tap "Restore purchase" in Settings. It's tied to your Apple Account, so there's no extra charge.

Changing phones

Use "Settings > Back up data" to export your records to a file, then choose "Settings > Restore from backup" on your new iPhone. You can save the file in the Files app, iCloud Drive and so on. If you restore your whole iPhone from an iCloud backup, your records come back too.

Language

The app follows your iPhone's language (Japanese or English). To change it for Habit Stack only, go to the iPhone Settings app > Habit Stack > Language.

FAQ

Q. I'm not getting reminders
A. In the iPhone Settings app, go to Notifications > Habit Stack and make sure notifications are on. You can turn each stack's reminder on or off and set its time on the stack's edit screen.

Q. When does a new day start?
A. At 4 a.m. by default, so a check late at night still counts for the day before. You can change it in "Settings > New day starts at".

Q. I forgot to check off yesterday
A. You can only check off today. Your streak continues as long as you complete at least one stack that day.

Q. Are there ads?
A. No.

Q. Where is my data stored?
A. Only on your iPhone. Nothing is sent to the developer. See the Privacy Policy for details.

Q. Is there an Android version?
A. Not at the moment.
