OSAMERU Support
Thank you for using OSAMERU. OSAMERU is an envelope budgeting app: set a budget for each category — like "Dining out: 100 a month" or "Clothes: 600 a year" — and log what you spend. What's left goes down right away.
How it works
1. Tap "+" at the top of the home screen to add a category (name, budget, when it refills, and what happens to the leftover).
2. When you spend money, tap "Log spending", pick the category and enter the amount (you can add a date and a note).
3. The home screen shows what's left in each category.
4. When a period ends, the budget refills.
Periods and leftovers
Each category refills weekly, monthly, yearly, or never (one-time). Monthly budgets can start on any day from the 1st to the 28th, yearly budgets in any month, and weekly budgets on Monday or Sunday. Matching it to your payday keeps it in step with your money.
For the leftover, choose "Reset" or "Roll over". With roll over, what's left is added to the next period and overspending is taken from the next one.
You can log entries only for dates in the current period, so earlier results stay correct.
Moving to a new iPhone
OSAMERU backs up your budgets and entries to your own iCloud Drive once a day, for free. Open OSAMERU on your new iPhone and choose "Bring them over" when it finds your records.
iCloud Drive must be on: Settings → your name → iCloud → iCloud Drive (being signed in is not enough). You can also back up and restore manually in the App's Settings.
OSAMERU Pro
OSAMERU is free and has no ads. You can use up to 5 categories for free.
OSAMERU Pro is a one-time purchase (not a subscription) and adds:
Unlimited categories (5 in the free version)
History (results for each period and the total difference from your budget)
Home Screen widget
If you bought it before (after a new iPhone or reinstalling), tap "Restore purchase" in Settings > OSAMERU Pro. It is tied to your Apple ID, so there is no extra charge.
FAQ
Q. I entered the wrong amount
A. Tap the category, then tap the entry to open "Edit entry". You can change the amount, date, note or category, or delete it.
Q. My trip budget is over
A. For a one-time budget, tap "Finish this budget" in its details. It leaves the home list, and its entries stay under "Finished" at the bottom of the home screen.
Q. How do I change the order?
A. Tap "Reorder" at the bottom of the home screen (or in Settings), then hold ≡ and drag.
Q. Does real money move?
A. No. The App only records the numbers you enter. It is not connected to banks or cards.
Q. Are there ads?
A. No.
Q. Where is my data stored?
A. Only on your device and in your own iCloud. Nothing is sent to the developer. See the privacy policy.
Q. Is there an Android version?
A. Not at this time.
